Designing biodegradable materials that support the body’s own capacity to heal — from vascular scaffolds to wound-care hydrogels.
Dr. Eng. Azizah Intan Pangesty is a lecturer in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Universitas Indonesia. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Universitas Gadjah Mada, and both her Master’s and Doctor of Engineering degrees in Molecular and Material Sciences from Kyushu University, Japan, where she was recognized as Best Graduate Student of the Green Asia Program.
Her research focuses on biopolymer composites and biodegradable materials for biomedical applications, including vascular tissue scaffolds, cardiac patch materials, and wound-dressing hydrogels. She has led multiple internationally-indexed research grants and holds a patent for a bioresorbable bone implant screw.
