Indonesian National Health Insurance scheme longitudinal sample data 2015–2020: overview and potential uses for health policy analysis

We are proud to announce the latest publication of Prof. Herni Susanti, Chair of the Research Cluster on Psychiatric Nursing Interventions and Mental Health Promotion. This article addresses a strategic and highly relevant topic concerning the utilization of Indonesia’s National Health Insurance (BPJS) for health services, including mental health care, based on a longitudinal analysis of national data from 2015 to 2020. The study provides a comprehensive overview of service utilization patterns and highlights the significant potential of large-scale secondary data for informing responsive and evidence-based health policy development.

The article, entitled “Indonesian National Health Insurance Scheme Longitudinal Sample Data 2015–2020: Overview and Potential Uses for Health Policy Analysis,” has been published in the reputable international journal BMC Health Services Research (2025). This publication represents a collaborative effort across institutions and demonstrates the research cluster’s strong capacity to manage and analyze large-scale national datasets to support health policy advancement, including the strengthening of mental health service systems in Indonesia.
