Depok, 14 July 2026 – The Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing (MHPN) Research Cluster, Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Indonesia, convened a virtual workshop entitled “Grant Proposal Strategy and Contemporary Trends in Mental Health Research” via Zoom on 14 July 2026. The workshop was attended by the full contingent of cluster members: Prof. Herni Susanti, Prof. Budi Anna Keliat, Dr. Novy H.C. Daulima, Yossie Susanti Eka Putri, Ph.D., Ns. Giur Hargiana, M.Kep., Sp.Kep.J., Ns. Ice Yulia Wardani, M.Kep., Sp.Kep.J., and Ria Utami Panjaitan, M.Kep.
The session was organised to accelerate the deliverables outlined in the cluster’s five-year research roadmap, driving high-impact inquiry with strong downstream translational potential. The primary objectives of the workshop were to enhance investigators’ capacity in securing competitive research funding, critically examine grant mechanisms from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and align the cluster’s research trajectories with pressing national and global mental health priorities.
The programme commenced with an overview of the cluster’s strategic development and grant roadmap presented by Cluster Lead Prof. Herni Susanti, S.Kp., M.N., Ph.D. The first technical session was facilitated by Nungki Indrianti, S.E., M.A., Associate Policy Analyst at BRIN, who provided an in-depth breakdown of BRIN’s funding schemes, compliance standards, and strategic proposal crafting. This was followed by a technical session led by Dr. dr. Sri Idaiani, Sp.K.J., Principal Expert Researcher at BRIN, who delivered a comprehensive update on emerging trends, priorities, and clinical directions within psychiatric and mental health research.
The workshop concentrated on achieving two tangible outputs: the formulation of initial grant proposal drafts tailored for submission to competitive external BRIN funding mechanisms, and the systematic mapping of strategic mental health research topics to guide upcoming collaborative cluster initiatives.
