Our Mission

• To analyze power relations and inequality, as well as the dynamics of agency, resistance, and empowerment among individuals and communities particularly vulnerable groups through an intersectional perspective
• To develop critical interdisciplinary research on the intersection of gender, cultural identity, and diaspora within the context of an ever-changing society
• To examine cross-border social and cultural dynamics, including the roles of the state, local communities, and diaspora in shaping, sustaining, and transforming identity and socio-cultural relations.
• To generate knowledge relevant to public policy and society in support of gender equality, cultural preservation and transformation, diaspora empowerment, and sustainable development
