During its first five years, COMPARE aims to establish a strong network of collaboration with scholars, practitioners, artists, and cultural workers affiliated with universities, research institutes, civil society organizations, and independent initiatives. While the cluster’s primary focus is Southeast Asia, it also seeks to build partnerships with individuals and institutions across East Asia, West Asia, Latin America, Western Europe, and North Africa.

In addition to expanding its collaborative network, COMPARE aims to organize at least five academic discussion forums and five documentary film screenings accompanied by public discussions on topics aligned with the cluster’s research agenda. The cluster also seeks to develop a scholarly archive, in both print and audiovisual formats, documenting the ideas, publications, and intellectual contributions of faculty members in the Department of Political Science at Universitas Indonesia.

In the area of scholarly publication, COMPARE targets the publication of at least three articles in internationally reputable journals, as well as the translation and publication of at least two influential academic books into Indonesian. In education, the cluster plans to organize at least one international summer school in Indonesia, bringing together participants from both Indonesia and abroad.

To further promote intellectual exchange, COMPARE will host public lectures featuring leading scholars and experts from Indonesia and other countries while developing interdisciplinary and cross-regional collaborative research initiatives. As part of its commitment to disseminating knowledge through creative media, the cluster also aims to produce a political documentary film that can engage broader public audiences.

Through these initiatives, COMPARE aspires to become a collaborative platform that bridges research, education, and social engagement while strengthening the role of comparative politics as a strategic field in the development of political science in Indonesia.
