Dr. Vishnu Juwono is an Associate Professor of Public Governance at the Faculty of Administrative Science, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI). He currently serves as Chairman of UI GreenMetric, a strategic business unit specializing in global sustainability rankings and sustainability consultancy, partnering with universities, governments, and international institutions to advance sustainable development and governance excellence worldwide.
He also serves as Chairman of the Collaborative Governance, Digital Transformation, Public Service (CG-DTPS) Research Lab, where he leads interdisciplinary research on governance innovation, digital transformation, and public sector effectiveness. His academic work focuses on governance reform, anti-corruption, institutional resilience, digital governance, and the Sustainability.
Dr. Juwono has held several senior leadership roles at Universitas Indonesia, including Head of the Transformation, Risk Management, and Monitoring & Evaluation Bureau (2020 – 2025). Previously, he served as Coordinator for International Cooperation (2017–2020) and Assistant Manager for Research, Publication, and Public Service (2016–2017) at FIA UI. Earlier in his career, he was Head of Communications at Universitas Indonesia (2009–2011) before pursuing doctoral studies in London.
Dr. Juwono earned his PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), United Kingdom, in 2016, as a Jardine Foundation Scholar. His doctoral research examined the political history of governance reform and anti-corruption initiatives in Indonesia from 1945 to 2014. He also completed postgraduate studies in Diplomatic Studies at Oxford University, and holds a Master of International Affairs (MIA) from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), with a concentration in international finance and business. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Economics at Universitas Indonesia.
Prior to academia, Dr. Juwono worked in global economic and governance institutions, including as a Governance Consultant at the World Bank (Jakarta, 2005–2008) and at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Director’s Office for Southeast Asia (Washington, DC, 2004–2005).
He has held several international academic affiliations, including Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Jakarta, Visiting Affiliate at the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore, Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University (ANU), and Visiting Scholar at the University of Melbourne.
Dr. Juwono’s career integrates academic scholarship, global policy experience, and institutional leadership, with a strong commitment to advancing good governance, digital transformation, and sustainability at national, regional, and global levels.
