Advancing evidence-based immunization and immune health for children and adolescents with special medical conditions, with a focus on organ transplantation.
ADENI is a research group dedicated to improving health outcomes among children and adolescents with special medical conditions. Our research focuses on immunization and immune protection, particularly in children and adolescents undergoing organ transplantation. We conduct research across immunization assessment, vaccine responses, and the development and implementation of evidence-based immunization strategies to support better clinical care.

Assessing immunization status, gaps, and factors affecting vaccine uptake among children and adolescents with special medical conditions.

Investigating antibody levels and immune responses to vaccination in immunocompromised and transplant patients.

Developing and evaluating evidence-based immunization strategies, clinical pathways, and catch-up vaccination approaches.
The ADENI Research Group roadmap begins with an assessment of immunization completeness and Hepatitis B antibody responses in pediatric and adolescent patients before and after organ transplantation. It will then expand to the evaluation of immune responses to other vaccines, the development of evidence-based immunization strategies and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ultimately their implementation in pediatric and adolescent transplant care.
