Assistant Professor

Biography

Afiatry Putrika is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Biology, Universitas Indonesia. Her academic background and research activities are centered on plant biology, with a particular interest in plant ecology and adaptation. Her research explores how plants respond to environmental variation through changes in their distribution, community structure, and morphological and anatomical characteristics. She has worked extensively with bryophytes, particularly mosses and liverworts, as a study group for investigating plant–environment interactions in urban environments. She is also involved in teaching plant diversity and general biology, and in developing research and learning activities related to biodiversity and environmental ecology.

Research Interest

Her research interests broadly encompass plant ecology, adaptation, and biodiversity, with a particular focus on bryophyte ecology and diversity. She is interested in understanding how plants respond to environmental variation, particularly in urban ecosystems, and how microclimatic conditions and environmental change shape plant distribution and community structure. Her research also explores the potential of bryophytes as biological indicators for assessing environmental conditions and change. More broadly, she is interested in biodiversity assessment and the ecological and adaptive responses of plants to their surrounding environment.
