Knowledge Diffusion and Information Dynamics in Humanities is a collaborative research initiative exploring how knowledge, information, and innovations are sought, shared, and used. Grounded in the humanities and social sciences and situated within the field of Library and Information Science, the center approaches information dynamics not as a separate concern but as the very mechanism that drives the flow and evolution of knowledge. We study how information travels through social, cultural, and technological systems, and how this movement shapes individual decision-making, institutional practices, and broader societal change.

Vision

To become a center of scholarly activities focusing on the diffusion of knowledge and the dynamics of information in the humanities, capable of producing multidisciplinary research that supports Universitas Indonesia as a research university.

Mission

  • To conduct innovative and impactful research focusing on the diffusion of knowledge and the dynamics of information in the humanities.
  • To organize training programs, seminars, dialogues, and other related activities based on cultural studies, the humanities, and information and communication technology.
  • To publish research findings, community engagement outcomes, and the results of seminars and training programs.
  • To establish sustainable collaborations with relevant institutions, both nationally and internationally.

Our Vision for The Future

The Knowledge Diffusion and Information Dynamics Research Center’s roadmap traces the journey of knowledge from identifying information needs and challenges, to understanding how knowledge is created, preserved, shared, and transformed, and ultimately to translating research into meaningful impact. Through interdisciplinary inquiry and collaboration, the roadmap connects research, innovation, learning, and knowledge application to better understand how information dynamics shape individuals, institutions, and society.
