About SoCI
The Social and Cultural Innovation Research Cluster (SoCI) is a research cluster community under the Faculty of Administrative Science, Universitas Indonesia, focusing on the multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral development of science and practice in the field of social and cultural innovation.
Social innovation can occur in all sectors: public, private, and non-profit. In fact, the most creative initiatives often happen at the boundaries between sectors, generating new models for problem-solving.

To become a center of excellence in social and cultural innovation research in Indonesia, strengthening academic capacity and cross-disciplinary research collaboration that has a tangible impact on society. Our members consist of experts in social innovation, knowledge management, and business strategy.
Examining creative initiatives born at the boundaries between sectors in society.
Situated between the civil society and private sectors, combining business logic and models with social objectives and specific ownership structures.
Hybrid organizations between the private and public sectors that provide new models of service and welfare provision for society.
Situated between the state and civil society, where NGOs function as surrogate states (e.g., BRAC & Grameen) in the event of public sector market failures.
