The Social and Environmental Economics Research Cluster has established a 3–5 year roadmap to advance research, collaboration, and policy impact in environmental studies. By focusing on strategic themes and measurable outputs, the cluster aims to become a leading center supporting sustainable development.

Research Focus and Priority Areas

National and International Collaborations

WE BUILD STRATEGIC INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH PARTNERSHIPS TO STRENGTHEN ACADEMIC CAPACITY AND GLOBAL IMPACT.

WE COLLABORATE WITH LEADING GLOBAL UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS

The cluster develops long-term collaborations with institutions such as NTU Singapore, the University of Queensland (UQ), and other international partners. Our cooperation focuses on environmental economics, system dynamics, and ecosystem-based community empowerment through joint research projects, co-teaching programs, visiting professors, and co-authored publications in reputable international journals.

These initiatives enhance research excellence, increase global visibility and citation impact, and expand access to international funding opportunities and academic mobility programs.

WE STRENGTHEN NATIONAL COLLABORATION TO ALIGN RESEARCH WITH DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES.

WE PARTNER WITH GOVERNMENT, ACADEMIA, AND INDUSTRY

The cluster builds interdisciplinary and cross-institutional partnerships at the national level. We collaborate with government agencies such as Bappenas and the Ministry of Environment and other relevant ministries to ensure research alignment with national development agendas.

Partnerships also include leading universities and research institutions such as IPB, UGM, ITB, BRIN, as well as civil society organizations. In addition, we engage with the private sector and state-owned enterprises including PT Pertamina, PT INALUM, PT Pelindo, and PT Harita Nickel to implement corporate environmental responsibility initiatives and community empowerment models grounded in environmental sustainability.
