Sawn Timber Recovery Optimization in Primary Industry from Legality Aspect

Authors: Umar Atik, Mahawan Karuniasa, Yuki Wardhana Published: 2020 Journal: E3S Web of Conferences (Q3) Abstract: To reduce deforestation and illegal logging, several international initiatives have been carried out. Recognition of SVLK existence is through the Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade Voluntary Partnership Agreement (FLEGT-VPA). SVLK regulates compliance from the forest management and timber trade aspect. One of the indicators used is the sawn timber recovery of sawmills. The case study generates a 59.34% sawn timber recovery. The study shows potential for utilization of wood waste amounting to 40.66%. Researchers recommend alternative use of wood waste as part of sustainable industry and clean production. Original Link: https://doi.org/10.1051/e3sconf/202021105006
