The Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing Research Group at the Fakultas Ilmu Keperawatan Universitas Indonesia is a collaborative academic platform dedicated to advancing evidence based knowledge, innovation, and policy in mental health nursing and mental health promotion. Led by Herni Susanti, the group brings together senior scholars and emerging researchers with expertise in psychiatric nursing intervention, mental health epidemiology, digital innovation, community based mental health promotion, health system management, and research on vulnerable populations. Through multidisciplinary collaboration at national and international levels, the group develops holistic, patient centered, and culturally responsive approaches to improve mental health outcomes across diverse settings.
Our research integrates the full continuum of inquiry, starting from mapping epidemiological trends and identifying social determinants of mental health, continuing with designing and testing innovative nursing interventions, and translating findings into policy recommendations and practical guidelines. With a strong commitment to social impact, we actively engage stakeholders, healthcare providers, and communities to ensure that research outcomes contribute not only to scientific advancement but also to sustainable improvements in mental health services and quality of life. Guided by a structured five year roadmap, the group aspires to become a nationally and internationally recognized center of excellence in mental health nursing intervention and mental health promotion.
