Biography

Yenny Djuardi is a medical doctor and a clinical parasitologist with a doctoral degree in immunoepidemiology of helminth infection. She serves as a faculty member in the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia.

Her expertise lies at the intersection of clinical practice and laboratory-based research, particularly in the diagnosis and immunological aspects of parasitic infections. Her research interests include soil-transmitted helminths, lymphatic filariasis, and host immune responses to helminth infection, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of helminth infection.

As a clinical parasitologist, she has strong competencies in laboratory diagnostics, clinical research development, and scientific publication in international, peer-reviewed journals in the fields of parasitology and tropical medicine. She also serves as a member of the Indonesian Expert Committee on Filariasis Treatment and participates in the technical guide on the management of morbidity and disability prevention for lymphatic filariasis in Indonesia.

Biography

Prof. Dr. Dra. Taniawati Supali is a Professor of Parasitology at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. With an academic background in biology and advanced doctoral training in parasitology, she has established herself as a leading expert in medical parasitology and tropical infectious diseases.

Her primary areas of expertise include lymphatic filariasis and helminth infections. Her research focuses on the epidemiology of parasitic diseases, immunodiagnostics of lymphatic filariasis, evaluation of drugs used in mass drug administration programs, and evidence-based strategies for disease elimination at the population level.

Prof. Taniawati Supali has been actively involved in national and international research collaborations and has contributed significantly to Indonesia’s lymphatic filariasis elimination initiatives. Her work bridges laboratory research, field epidemiology, and public health policy, positioning her as a key figure in tropical disease research and control efforts in Indonesia.
