Vision and Mission

Vision:

To advance epidemiological science that drives equitable, evidence-based policies and effective model interventions to improve maternal and child health, reproductive health, nutrition, and long-term population health.

Mission:

1. To conduct essential epidemiological research on maternal and child health, reproductive health and nutrition, addressing key determinants, environmental exposures, and long-term health outcomes.
2. To develop, maintain, and utilize population-based birth cohorts and surveillance systems as platforms for long-term monitoring, research, and policy-relevant analysis.
3. To design, pilot, and evaluate practical and evidence-based model interventions aimed at improving maternal and child health, reproductive health, nutrition, and the prevention of non-communicable diseases.
4. To translate research findings into actionable insights through scientific publications, recommendations, and policy briefs
5. To strengthen research capacity through training and national and international collaboration.

The Research Group’s missions are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), advancing life-course epidemiological evidence to support sustainable improvements in maternal and child health, reproductive health, nutrition, and long-term population health.
