Exploring Structure Across Life: From Development to Aging

Development, Regeneration, and Aging in Anatomy (DRAA) is a research cluster at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. DRAA focuses on understanding the dynamic structural changes of the human body across the life cycle, from embryonic development and postnatal growth to tissue regeneration and aging.

By integrating developmental biology, stem cell research, and translational approaches, DRAA aims to bridge foundational anatomical science with preventive and therapeutic innovation in regenerative medicine and aging research.

Research Focus

DRAA research is organized into four main areas:

Developmental Anatomy

Morfogenesis, organogenesis, serta peran stem cell prenatal dan postnatal dalam pembentukan struktur tubuh.

Regenerative Anatomy

Mekanisme regenerasi jaringan, terapi berbasis mesenchymal stem cells (MSC), dan pengembangan terapi suportif.

Aging in Anatomy

Degenerasi struktural, stem cell senescence, serta strategi anti-aging berbasis pendekatan anatomi dan molekuler.

Developmental and Degenerative Disorders

Kelainan perkembangan dan perubahan degeneratif alami sepanjang siklus kehidupan manusia.

Core Programs

DRAA menjalankan berbagai program strategis untuk mendukung penguatan riset dan pengembangan kapasitas akademik:

  • Research Program – Penguatan riset dasar, in vitro, in vivo, dan translasional.
  • National and International Collaboration – Kolaborasi lintas disiplin dan institusi global.
  • Human Resource Development – Pengembangan kapasitas peneliti dan mahasiswa.
  • Publication and Dissemination Program – Publikasi ilmiah dan diseminasi hasil riset.
  • Laboratory Infrastructure Development – Penguatan fasilitas dan tata kelola laboratorium riset.
