Roadmap

The Child Health and Well-being Research Cluster is committed to developing evidence-based, sustainable, and technology-supported interventions to improve child growth, development, and quality of life in Indonesia.

Our five-year research roadmap (2026–2030) focuses on strengthening foundational data, implementing early interventions, building interdisciplinary collaboration, and advancing digital innovation to support stunting prevention and holistic child well-being.

2026: Baseline Data Assessment and Capacity Building

The cluster will conduct a baseline survey on nutritional status and child growth and development among neonates and children under two years of age (Baduta), referring to the First 1,000 Days of Life (1000 HPK) framework. The study will be implemented in both hospital and community settings.

In parallel, capacity-building programs will be delivered to healthcare professionals to strengthen early screening and stunting prevention competencies.

Expected Outputs:

  • Publication of baseline data findings

  • 80% of participating healthcare professionals trained in stunting screening

2027: Early Intervention Implementation

This phase focuses on delivering educational interventions to families of hospitalized children and families with children under two years old in community settings. The interventions aim to improve caregiving practices and support optimal growth and development.

Expected Output:

  • Scientific publication of intervention outcomes

2028: Integrated Collaborative Care

The cluster will develop and implement an integrated care model involving nurses, physicians, and nutritionists. The program will focus on specific stunting prevention interventions through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Expected Output:

  • Formalized collaboration agreement and integrated service model documentation

2029: Innovation Development

Development of a technology-based integrated intervention system will begin. This includes designing and implementing a web-based application to support child growth monitoring and intervention delivery.

Expected Output:

  • Web-based application prototype

2030: Replication and National Scaling

The web-based intervention system will be replicated and implemented in stunting-priority regions across Indonesia to expand its impact.

Expected Output:

  • Intellectual Property Rights (IPR/HKI) registration
