Who We Are

About Us

The Chronic and Palliative Care Research Cluster is an academic research group committed to advancing nursing science and improving quality of life for individuals living with chronic diseases and those requiring palliative care.

Our work addresses complex health challenges across the continuum of care — from prevention and risk identification to long-term management and end-of-life support. We integrate clinical expertise, research methodology, and digital innovation to generate evidence that is both scientifically rigorous and socially impactful.

We believe chronic and palliative care should not be fragmented, reactive, or isolated. Instead, it must be coordinated, data-informed, compassionate, and sustainable.

Our Focus

Our research spans four strategic domains:

Chronic Disease Management

We investigate risk factors, treatment adherence, symptom control, and long-term outcomes in conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, cancer, and kidney disease.

Integrated Palliative Care

We develop and evaluate care models that embed palliative principles across hospital, community, and home settings, ensuring holistic physical, psychosocial, and spiritual support.

Digital Health & AI Innovation

We explore the use of artificial intelligence, predictive modeling, and telehealth systems to enhance early detection, personalize interventions, and improve continuity of care.

Community & Family-Centered Interventions

We design interventions that empower families and communities as essential partners in chronic and palliative care delivery.

Our Vision

To become a nationally and internationally recognized research cluster in chronic and palliative nursing science, known for innovation, translational impact, and academic excellence.

Our Mission

Our mission is to generate high-quality, evidence-based research that improves patient outcomes while developing scalable and sustainable models of integrated chronic and palliative care. We are committed to translating research findings into meaningful policy recommendations and practical clinical applications, fostering interdisciplinary and international collaboration, and contributing to the development of future researchers and healthcare leaders who will advance the field with integrity and innovation.

We give impact to community
