Our approach integrates systemic spatial analysis to unravel the complex power dynamics shaping the interaction between humanity and the natural world. By merging critical geography with advanced spatial tools, we decode how political and economic forces drive environmental change and influence resource governance across diverse territories.
The Challanges
Rapid urbanization and global economic pressures have led to severe “ecological crises,” including environmental degradation, resource conflicts, and unequal access to vital resources. Traditional approaches often overlook the underlying power relations and systemic interventions of state and economic actors that produce these spatial injustices.
Our Solution
Established in 2025 at the Department of Geography, FMIPA UI, the Cluster for Political Ecology Research (CePER) provides a unique geoscience-informed framework. We analyze the “science of change” by modeling how anthropogenic forces, driven by power dimensions, alter the environment. We offer evidence-based solutions through systemic spatial modeling to promote environmental justice and sustainable resource management.

Our team utilizes advanced methodologies to transform raw data into meaningful insights, enabling strategic decisions and efficient solutions for your projects.

We provide comprehensive reporting services that communicate research findings clearly, helping you share results effectively with stakeholders and clients.
