CEMBIOS

Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms in Biological Systems

The Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms in Biological Systems (CEMBIOS) Research Group was established to advance fundamental research on cellular and molecular mechanisms within biological systems. The group seeks to generate comprehensive insights into key biological processes at the cellular and molecular levels through integrative approaches based on structure, function, and genetics. In addition, CEMBIOS aims to strengthen research in cellular, molecular, and genomic sciences to support biodiversity prospecting and conservation efforts.
The establishment of CEMBIOS is driven by scientific, academic, and institutional needs, particularly the growing demand for interdisciplinary research to address complex biological challenges in health, agriculture, and biotechnology.

Goals and Strategic Objectives

CEMBIOS is committed to:

  1. Developing high-quality research while training students—especially postgraduate students—in cellular and molecular research, and strengthening undergraduate education in cellular, molecular, and genomic mechanisms.
  2. Enhancing postgraduate training and deepening understanding of major biological processes at the cellular and molecular levels through structural, functional, and genetic approaches.
  3. Investigating cellular and molecular phenomena occurring in nature, particularly those associated with Indonesia’s rich biodiversity.
  4. Bridging disciplinary gaps to promote scientific breakthroughs in medicine, agriculture, and environmental sciences. Whether in the development of disease-resistant crops or novel cancer therapies, the fundamental knowledge generated contributes broadly across scientific fields.
  5. Expanding engagement with the global research community to accelerate scientific advancement and prepare future Indonesian leaders in international research.
