About Us

Enhancing community resilience and mitigating climate change-related health impact through sustainable nursing care

Who We Are

From a roundtable discussion to the global stage — that is how we describe this research cluster. It began with an idea: addressing the often-overlooked health impacts of climate change. From there, it evolved into a broader commitment to building community resilience through sustainable, equitable, and responsive care in the face of a rapidly changing climate.

CC Phase derives from our research cluster name: Climate Change, Planetary Health, and Sustainable Care. Our vision is to serve as a centre of excellence in advancing research for climate-resilient and sustainable nursing and healthcare

OUR VISION

"To become a center of excellence in research advancing climate-resilient nursing and health for environmental and health justice."

Our Mission

  • Producing multidisciplinary research on climate change–related health impacts;
  • Improving planetary health literacy through education, training, and dissemination for healthcare workers and communities;
  • Promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly innovations in nursing education;
  • Advocating for health policies that strengthen climate resilience and support sustainable healthcare systems;
  • Empowering communities through mitigation and adaptation strategies to address climate change–related health impacts and build long-term resilience.

Our Goals & Focus Areas

Driving impactful research and actionable solutions across six critical domains of planetary health and sustainable care.

Climate Impact on Health

Examines the direct and indirect effects of climate change on human health, especially among vulnerable populations.

Planetary Health

Grounded in the principles of planetary health, this focus area investigates the interdependence between human health and the health of natural systems.

Sustainable Nursing Care

Nurse as the frontline responders and agents of change, CC PHASE promotes sustainable nursing practices aim to reducing environmental footprints while improving quality of nursing care.

Community Empowerment

Emphasizes participatory approaches, capacity building, and the integration of local knowledge and cultural perspectives to support behavioral change strategies that empower communities to adapt to the health impacts of climate change

Health Equity (GEDSI – Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion)

Integrates a strong GEDSI framework to ensure that climate change-related health interventions are inclusive and equitable for all people.

Climate Mitigation and Risk Reduction

Explores strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through community-based behavioral change, while simultaneously minimizing the climate change-related health risks.
