About ACCENT

The Acute and Critical Care research cluster focuses on the development of evidence-based nursing science and innovative clinical interventions for patients with acute and critical conditions, as well as those at high risk of serious complications. The target population spans all age groups, from neonates, pediatric to adults, thereby contributing to comprehensive nursing care delivery. Research within this cluster aims to improve the quality of nursing care, patient safety, and clinical outcomes through multidisciplinary approaches and technological innovation in intensive care and emergency settings.

This cluster encompasses two primary research focus areas:

1. Acute Care Nursing Research Scope
   • Development of technologies and methods for managing, treating, and stabilizing urgent conditions that are not always life-threatening
   • Disease prevention and health promotion efforts
   • Care coordination and interprofessional collaboration
   • Intervention and best practices for post/recovery critical care
2. Critical Care Nursing Research Scope
   • Development of methods and technologies for managing critical and life-threatening conditions
   • Maintenance of life and organ function
   • Management of complex diseases and traumatic conditions
   • Advanced assessment and intervention
   • Team collaboration and clinical communication
   • Emotional support for patients and families
   • Advocacy for patient needs and preferences
